UPC (Universal Product Code)
A UPC, or Universal Product Code, is the 12-digit product identifier behind North American retail barcodes, issued under the GS1 standard. A product's UPC stays the same everywhere it is sold, while every seller and warehouse assigns its own internal SKU to the same item. In multichannel operations, the UPC is the shared reference that product sync uses to reconcile each system's codes to one product.
